Job Description

The ICT teacher works with students (typically Grades 1-8), focusing on foundational computer literacy, digital citizenship, and basic computing skills.

Curriculum & Instruction
:

Introduce students to computer fundamentals, such as identifying hardware components, using a mouse and keyboard, and basic software applications like MS Paint or MS Office.
Teach basic digital literacy, responsible internet use, and online safety in an age-appropriate manner.
Utilize engaging, activity-based, and gamified teaching methods to make learning interactive and fun for young children (e.g., using block-based coding platforms like Scratch).

Classroom Management
:

Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and creativity.
Ensure lab safety and proper use of computer resources and equipment by young students.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging technologies and educational trends.

Assessment & Collaboration
:

Assess student progress through observations, classwork, and simple projects, maintaining records of performance.
Collaborate with other teachers to integrate technology into other primary subjects where possible.
Organize and guide students in extracurricular activities such as coding clubs and computer-based competitions.
