Job Overview: Hydroscope is looking for a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to develop firmware for embedded IoT devices used in real-time water monitoring systems. The ideal candidate will work on sensor integration, low-power embedded systems, wireless communication protocols, and real-time data processing. This role requires expertise in firmware architecture, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and IoT security protocols to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of our sensor-based IoT solutions. Key Responsibilities: Firmware & Embedded Systems Development: Develop, test, and optimize firmware for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, ESP32, STM32, etc.). Implement low-power embedded firmware solutions for battery-operated IoT sensors. Design and optimize real-time firmware for data acquisition, processing, and wireless communication. Interface with various sensors (analog, digital, I2C, SPI, UART, Modbus, SDI-12, etc.) for real-time water quality monitoring. Develop and optimize wireless communication protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, LoRa, BLE, NB-IoT, and Wi-Fi. Performance Optimization & Security: Optimize firmware for power efficiency, reliability, and real-time data transmission. Ensure secure boot, encryption, and secure communication between IoT devices and cloud infrastructure. Implement OTA (Over-the-Air) firmware updates for remote device management. Skills & Qualifications: Technical Expertise: Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Electrical, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Computer Science. Experience: 3+ years in firmware development and embedded systems. Programming Languages: Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and embedded development. Microcontrollers & Embedded Platforms: Strong experience with ARM Cortex, ESP32, STM32, PIC, and Atmel. Role & responsibilities Data Analysis & Business Intelligence: Analyse large IoT datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to water quality and environmental monitoring. Develop interactive dashboards and visual reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib. Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across multiple sources.
