About Us: Human Library Café is India’s first initiative that blends storytelling, conversations, and community learning in a café-like setting. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive space where people can “borrow” human experiences, break stereotypes, and build empathy through real stories. We are looking for a passionate Co-Founder to join the journey of building this movement into a scalable model with impact. Role Overview: The Co-Founder will work closely with the founding team to build the vision, strategy, and operations of Human Library Café. This role requires entrepreneurial spirit, strong leadership, and the ability to balance creativity with execution. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategy & Vision Co-create and refine the long-term vision and roadmap for Human Library Café. Identify opportunities for scaling – new cities, partnerships, and formats. Build innovative models for revenue generation and sustainability. 2. Operations & Program Management Oversee day-to-day operations of storytelling events, workshops, and community programs. Develop frameworks for replicating the Human Library Café model in other regions. Ensure smooth execution of events and collaborations with schools, colleges, corporates, and governments. 3. Partnerships & Outreach Build partnerships with universities, corporates, government bodies, NGOs, and tourism boards. Represent Human Library Café at forums, conferences, and media interactions. Drive collaborations that strengthen both social impact and brand visibility. 4. Storytelling & Community Building Curate and mentor “human books” (storytellers) from diverse backgrounds. Nurture an inclusive and safe environment for sharing stories. Develop new formats (podcasts, digital series, rural tourism tie-ups) for storytelling. 5. Business Development & Fundraising Explore and secure funding opportunities – grants, CSR, investors, sponsorships. Design financial models for café operations and experiential tourism. Build investor decks and pitch Human Library Café to stakeholders. 6. Leadership & Team Building Recruit, train, and manage a passionate team of volunteers and professionals. Build a culture of empathy, innovation, and accountability. Share leadership responsibility with other co-founders to ensure alignment. Desired Skills & Qualities: Entrepreneurial mindset with risk-taking ability. Strong communication and storytelling skills. Networking and relationship-building abilities. Experience in social entrepreneurship, community building, or hospitality is a plus. Passion for culture, heritage, and human stories. Ability to balance purpose with sustainable business growth. Location: Flexible / Travel required (pan-India, international opportunities). Compensation: Equity + Revenue Sharing (initially). 👉 This role is best suited for someone who believes in the power of stories to transform individuals and communities, and who wants to co-create India’s first movement-led café experience.
