Job Description As an RSO at the company, your primary responsibility is to promote and enforce the implementation of all QHSSE requirements and facilitate the implementation and improvement of the Barrier Management System (BMS) onboard the rig. You will provide guidance and expertise to all personnel on Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) standards and assist with related goals and programs. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure appropriate dissemination of HSE policies, procedures, and guidance documentation. - Maintain a strong presence at the worksite, especially in high-risk, high-activity areas such as the deck and drill floor. Approximately 75% of the working day should be spent at the worksite. - Promote Safety Programs like ADES 8 keys to incident-free on the rig to ensure each employee is aware of the standards and how to apply them. - Promote ADES Awards like the TOFS award to embed the concept into the rig culture. - Assist in the management of the Stop, Hazard, Initiate, Engage, Learn and Demonstrate (SHIELD) program and encourage active participation by undertaking safety performance conversations by all persons on board. - Ensure Stop Work Authority (SWA) obligation is understood by all persons on board and exercised promptly. Lead by example in this regard. - Assist in monitoring and verifying compliance with control of work systems such as JSA, SOPs, PTW, Isolation, Confined Space, Rescue Planning, etc. - Comply with, monitor, and contribute to the continuous improvement of BMS, HSE related policies and procedures, and relevant authority regulatory requirements. - Identify and address HSE or noncompliance concerns in collaboration with site operations management. - Assist with internal/external audit completion, close-out, and tracking. - Engage with crews during safety meetings and supervisors meetings, presenting topics/findings. - Monitor the selection of suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) and perform checks on sizing and suitability. - Maintain awareness of Substances Hazardous to Health and the correct storage, use, handling, and PPE requirements. - Carry out onboard training and/or book crew training to ensure full compliance with the crew training matrix. Assist third-party trainers as necessary. - Assist, monitor, and verify compliance with the short-service employee (SSE) process to ensure effective implementation and provide on-the-job training to develop the SSEs. - Participate in rig-based incident reporting and investigations to determine root cause(s) and ensure findings are shared between all crews on board. - Assist with and deliver rig orientation and induction as requested. - Liaise with customer representatives and regulatory bodies as necessary. - Perform emergency duties as per the rig station bill. - Moderate the rig self-verification process. Qualification Required: - Bachelors degree - Minimum of 3 years in an RSO role, preferably within the drilling industry in an HSE role/position.
