Work Arrangement: Hybrid (10 days onsite/mos)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm IST

About The Role
We are looking for a hands-on HR Executive to independently build and lead our HR operations in India. You will have complete ownership to create policies, implement processes, and ensure compliance. This role is ideal for a proactive, resourceful professional with a startup mindset, ready to make a significant impact with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle: Own end-to-end HR operations, including onboarding, documentation, payroll inputs, benefits administration, leave management, and exit formalities.
- Policy & Process Development: Create, implement, and maintain all HR policies, the employee handbook, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in compliance with local Indian laws.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure 100% statutory compliance for all applicable laws, including PF, ESI, Gratuity, and Shops & Establishment Act.
- HR Records & Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate employee records, files, and HR reports.
- HR Systems: Establish and manage HR trackers for attendance, leave, probation, and performance check-ins.
- Employee Support: Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries on HR policies, leave, payroll, and other general support, handling all matters with discretion.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify gaps in existing processes and implement effective solutions to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Recruitment & Onboarding Support: Coordinate recruitment logistics and manage the onboarding process for new hires, including offer letters, joining checklists, and system access.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on, generalist HR experience in India.
- Proven experience in a startup or fast-paced environment where you built or formalized HR processes from scratch.
- A high-agency, problem-solving mindset; you take initiative and drive projects forward independently.
- Strong, working knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills, and follow-through.
- Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive conversations maturely.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with distributed or remote teams.
- Familiarity with HRIS, payroll software, or other workflow tools.
What Success Looks Like
- In 3 months: You have a complete understanding of our current state and have begun documenting core HR policies.
- In 6 months: All India HR policies are documented, socialized, and being followed. Payroll and statutory filings are accurate and timely.
- In 12 months: The HR function runs smoothly, new hires have an exceptional onboarding experience, and the foundation is solid for scaling the team efficiently and without disruption.
