We’re Hiring: Entry-Level Test Engineer – Warehouse Automation Location: Pune, India| 💼 Type: Full-Time | 🧪 Level: Entry-Level | Job reference : TEJPUIN8 Are you curious about how large-scale automated warehouses run like clockwork? We’re expanding our Engineering & Testing team and are seeking an Test Engineer to join us in validating the next generation of intelligent material handling systems. Your Role: As a Test Engineer , you will support our system integration and testing team by: Executing system-level and integration testing for warehouse automation equipment (conveyors, shuttles, robotic systems, WMS/WCS software). Validating system functionality, throughput, and performance against project specifications. Participating in the planning, setup, and documentation of test procedures. Reporting bugs and anomalies to relevant engineering teams with accuracy and clarity. Supporting the creation of test reports, root cause analyses, and improvement recommendations. Assisting during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) alongside project teams and clients. What We’re Looking For: A recent graduate or junior engineer with a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or Software Engineering (or similar technical background). Strong interest in logistics automation, industrial systems, or testing & validation. Basic understanding of software and hardware integration (PLC, sensors, SCADA/WMS is a plus!). Hands-on, proactive attitude and attention to detail. Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing, analysing, and managing system requirements for complex automated warehouse solutions. You will serve as a key liaison between stakeholders, engineering teams, and project management, ensuring that technical specifications align with operational needs and customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle. This position is central to the success of end-to-end automation projects, contributing directly to system quality, integration efficiency, and successful solution delivery. Key Responsibilities Elicit, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements for automated warehouse systems, including WMS/WCS integration, controls, hardware, and software components. Collaborate with customers, project managers, system architects, and technical leads to define clear, actionable, and testable requirements aligned with business objectives and operational goals. Facilitate requirement workshops, technical clarification sessions, and system walkthroughs to ensure a shared understanding of the solution scope. Translate business needs into structured system specifications and use cases. Develop and maintain traceability matrices linking requirements to design elements, test cases, and business objectives. Support validation and verification efforts by ensuring test coverage is aligned with documented requirements. Assist with change management processes and impact assessments in case of scope adjustments or customer change requests. Ensure compliance with company and industry standards for requirement engineering, documentation, and quality assurance. Contribute to the continuous improvement of requirement engineering methodologies, templates, and tools. Provide support during commissioning, ensuring implemented systems match the originally defined requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in requirements engineering, systems engineering, or business analysis within industrial automation, logistics, or related sectors. Proven experience in large-scale automation, warehouse, or manufacturing systems is highly preferred. Experience with requirements engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, Polarion, or similar). Strong familiarity with the V-model, systems lifecycle processes, and test-driven development principles. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with a structured and methodical approach to problem-solving. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to translate high-level business needs into detailed engineering requirements. Familiarity with automation system components including PLCs, SCADA, WMS, and robotics is a plus. Comfortable working in an Agile or hybrid project environment. Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed during project phases (up to 30%).
