Residential IB World School in Ooty, Tamil Nadu is seeking a caring and responsible House Parent to oversee the welfare and daily life of students in the boarding house. The role involves providing pastoral care, emotional support, and guidance to students while maintaining a safe, disciplined, and nurturing home-like environment. The House Parent will work closely with academic and administrative teams to ensure the holistic development of every student.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily routines of boarding students including wake-up, meals, study, and bedtime.
• Foster a caring, supportive, and structured environment that promotes student well-being.
• Provide emotional support, counseling, and mentorship to students when needed.
• Monitor student behavior, discipline, and safety within the dormitory.
• Coordinate with teachers, health staff, and counselors regarding student welfare.
• Organize recreational, weekend, and cultural activities for boarders.
• Maintain records of attendance, medical updates, and incident reports.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians on student welfare and conduct.
• Ensure hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained within the hostel.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field .
• Minimum 1 years of experience in a boarding school or similar residential care role.
• Experience in IB (PYP/MYP/DP) boarding environments preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage adolescent behavior with empathy, patience, and firmness.
• Proficiency in English.
• Must be willing to live on campus in Ooty.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,157.23 - ₹45,000.00 per month
