Hostel Warden

Role & responsibilities

Student Welfare & Supervision

• Ensure safety, security, and well-being of all girl students residing in the hostel.
• Maintain a healthy, disciplined, and supportive environment.
• Provide guidance, conflict resolution, and emotional support when needed.
• Monitor students attendance, movements, and leave permissions.
  

Discipline & Regulations

• Enforce hostel rules and code of conduct with fairness.
• Handle disciplinary issues and report serious matters to the administration.
• Conduct regular roll calls and maintain discipline during study hours and quiet hours.
  

Administration & Documentation

• Maintain records: attendance, late entries, leave registers, complaint logs.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports for management.
• Coordinate with the management for admissions, room allotments, and hostel activities.
  

Facility & Maintenance Management

• Oversee cleanliness of rooms, corridors, common areas, and bathrooms.
• Report maintenance issues (plumbing, electrical, housekeeping) and ensure timely repairs.
• Supervise housekeeping and support staff.
  

Safety & Security

• Ensure proper functioning of CCTV, fire safety systems, and security protocols.
• Maintain emergency contact lists and handle emergencies calmly.
• Conduct regular safety inspections.
  

Coordination

• Liaise with parents/guardians regarding student matters.
• Work with academic staff, security, mess staff, and administration for smooth operations.
• Oversee hostel events, cultural programs, and orientation sessions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in any discipline (Masters degree preferred).
• Experience as a warden or in student welfare/discipline roles (1–5 years preferred).
• Only female candidates (for girls’ hostel).
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, email).

Working Conditions

• Residential position preferred (247 availability during emergencies).
