Job Title: TIG & Argon Welder – Stainless Steel Sheet Metal Fabrication Department: Fabrication / Production Location: [Insert Location] Reports To: Fabrication Supervisor / Production Manager Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced TIG & Argon Welder with strong expertise in stainless steel (SS) sheet metal fabrication . The candidate will be responsible for precision welding, fitting, and finishing of stainless steel components as per engineering drawings and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform TIG (GTAW) and Argon welding on stainless steel sheet metal (typically 0.8mm – 5mm thick). Carry out fabrication, assembly, and finishing of stainless steel parts, enclosures, tanks, and structures. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols accurately. Ensure welds meet high visual and dimensional quality standards (food-grade or architectural finish if applicable). Operate fabrication tools such as grinders, shears, brakes, and rollers . Inspect materials and joints for defects or non-conformities and correct them as needed. Maintain clean, polished weld seams suitable for stainless steel finishing. Follow all safety protocols and company quality systems . Support continuous improvement in fabrication and welding processes. Qualifications & Skills: ITI / Diploma / Certification in Welding, Fabrication, or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in TIG and Argon welding of stainless steel sheet metal. Strong knowledge of SS grades (304, 316, etc.) and their welding characteristics. Ability to produce clean, distortion-free, and aesthetically neat welds . Skilled in reading fabrication drawings and using measuring tools . Good understanding of surface finishing (brushing, polishing, passivation). Familiar with welding machines, purging setups, and gas flow control . Certification in TIG welding (if available) is preferred. Physical & Work Conditions: Workshop environment with exposure to heat, fumes, and metal dust. Must be able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods. Use of PPE (helmet, gloves, apron, safety shoes) is mandatory. Preferred Experience: Experience in SS fabrication for food processing, pharmaceutical, kitchen equipment, or architectural industries . Knowledge of jig fabrication and precision fit-up techniques . Basic understanding of welding quality standards (ASME / ISO / AWS) .
