Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Strategic Oversight

  • Develop and implement project management strategies and best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency and profitability.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the project management team, ensuring a consistent approach to project execution across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with business development and tendering teams to provide input on project feasibility, timelines, and resource requirements during the bidding phase.

Project Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee all phases of project execution, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Ensure adherence to project milestones, budget constraints, and client specifications.
  • Implement robust governance and reporting frameworks to provide transparent project status updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Financial Management

  • Take responsibility for the financial performance of the entire project portfolio.
  • Monitor project budgets, control costs, and manage cash flow to maximize profitability.
  • Approve project-related expenditures and ensure compliance with financial policies.

Risk and Quality Management

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including technical, commercial, and safety risks.
  • Ensure all projects are executed in compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and the company's quality management system.
  • Foster a strong safety culture across all project sites and operations.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and project delivery staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and foster professional growth within the department.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, partners, and subcontractors during project execution.
  • Manage and resolve complex issues and disputes to maintain strong business relationships.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale, complex projects.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a senior leadership role, such as Head of Projects or Projects Director, within the EPC or a related heavy industry (e.g., power, infrastructure, oil & gas).
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
