Position Title
Head - OH&S
Location : Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh & Punjab

This position is responsible for providing OH&S leadership, coordinating, advising and assisting the management with implementation of systems and processes to ensure a safe and healthy working environment as well as improving overall safety performance of the plant. It provides decision support to the Plant Head on health & Safety issues in the plant.

Planning & Review
- Contribute in development of road maps, and formulation of OH&S Improvement Plan for disseminating the global norms, policies and guidelines at all the offices and plants in the region.
- Develop action plans to implement the improvement plan and disseminate the same to all plants in the region.
- Ensure implementation of the Holcim norms, policies and guidelines in the region
- Responsible for the implementation of ACL OH&S policy, norms practices and initiatives in the region
- Ensure the ACL guidelines and policies are in line with the Holcim norms.
- Develop Plant road map based on Regional & Corporate requirements
- Implementation plan for OH&S systems
- Implementation of Safety Improvement Plan with focus on 3 FPEs and CSM & Wave's, including Level 2 findings (compliance to plan)
Safety Management
- Monitor OH&S implementation through periodic reviews, plant inspections and audits.
- Facilitate integration of Holcim OH&S management system with IMS system in Shipping.
- Do gap analysis and understand the level of OH&S and Integrate Holcim OH&S management system at newly acquired facilities and joint ventures.
- Monitor and engage in timely assessment of risk to health and safety
- Ensure stringent implementation of safety standards in accordance with established procedures , Holcim pyramid and Fatality Prevention norms
- Regularly formulate and recommend potential health & safety systems and practices that will prove beneficial to the plant and employees in the region
- Ensure the execution of OH&S Management system. Review OH&S improvement planning activities in the region
- Responsible for providing expertise in OH&S matters to the plants in the region
- Ensure emergency response plan and procedures are maintained updated.
- Responsible for implementing pilot projects at the plants to enhance safety standards
- Periodic Reports, recommendations
- Update in Plant ExCo on progress and areas of deficiency
- Implement best OH&S practices from other plants/ industry
- Conduct & review mock drills
- Develop competencies of personnels in safety
- Conduct motivational programs to promote safety
Inspection & Auditing
- Facilitate Internal and External Audits / Evaluations to ensure full compliance with
Regulatory and Holcim standards.
- Regularly visit and perform plants and projects audits as per the Holcim Pyramid Audit and Fatality Prevention Audit.
- Ensure corrective actions are taken on any deviations from the safety norms at projects and report to the Corporate.
- Develop audit plans and resources
- Prepare audit reports with action plans
- Monitor progress of actions and report to Plant Head.
Reporting
- Review and monitor the OH&S issues, statistics and trends and suggest potential improvements to the existing system and procedures to the Plant Head
- Lead critical incident / accidents investigations, develop corrective and preventive action plan and ensure its implementation.
- Ensure the submission of accident reports observations, analysis and recommendation on control and implementation of correct safety norms
- Review with plant staff on accident prevention measures and assist in rehabilitation of workers after accidents and injuries.
- Adopt the learnings of incidents at other locations to avoid repetition.
- On time and accurate reporting

- Sharing of learnings from incidents
Compliance
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to all Holcim norms and guidelines in the plant
- Ensure that all the OH&S laws & regulations are respected and complied with at the plant.
- Legal compliance with respect to OH&S
Training
- Ensure the training needs based on the risk profile are identified and trainings are planned and executed.
- Liaise with Coprorate training manager to Identify training agencies for imparting safety training at plant
- Ensure regular trainings are conducted on health & safety for staff
- Evaluate the trainings to measure effectiveness and report it to the corporate
- Develop OH&S training matrix
- Develop training modules as per local requirements
- Conduct trainings as per requirement

Educational Qualifications
- Degree / Diploma in Engineering, PG degree or diploma in Industrial Safety
Relevant and total years of Experience
- 7-10 years experience in safety preferably in process or chemical industry.
Work place requirements
- SAP authorizations along with laptop, email access on hand/desktop devices, datacard.
