Qualifications & Skills

B.Sc / M.Sc / B.Pharm / M.Pharm (Chemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, etc.).
18+ years of QA/QC experience in
herbal extracts, nutraceuticals, API, food, or phytochemical industry
.
Knowledge of GMP, GLP, documentation practices, and analytical techniques

Key Responsibilities QC

1. Raw Material, In-Process & Finished Product Testing

Conduct routine testing of herbal raw materials, extracts, powders, essential oils, and nutraceutical ingredients.
Perform
analytical tests
: HPLC, GC, UV, FTIR, TLC, pH, moisture, ash, heavy metals (as applicable).
Maintain test records and ensure results meet product specifications.

2. Instrument Handling & Maintenance

Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments (HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, Karl Fischer, etc.).
Ensure analytical methods are followed accurately.

3. In-Process Quality Checks

Conduct in-process checks during extraction, concentration, blending, and drying stages.
Monitor CCPs, batch consistency, and process deviations.

Key Responsibilities QA

4. Documentation & GMP Compliance

Prepare and review QA documents such as
SOPs, BMR/BPR, COAs, deviation reports, change controls
.
Ensure compliance with
GMP, FSSAI, AYUSH, USFDA, EU standards
applicable to plant-based ingredients.
Conduct internal audits and support external/regulatory audits.

5. Quality Systems Management

Manage CAPA, OOS, OOT investigations.
Ensure traceability for all batches.
Support qualification of RM suppliers.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with production, R&D, purchase, warehouse, and sanitation teams to ensure quality compliance.
Provide QA support for customer audits and technical queries.
