Job Title: Automotive Test Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automotive Test Engineer with 2 to 3 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in the Automotive domain, with expertise in vector tools, CAPL programming, scripting (either in Python or VB Excel), and a valuable knowledge of the dSPACE Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) setup. Additionally, experience with ECU commissioning will be a significant advantage. The primary responsibilities of this role include developing and executing test cases for critical automotive systems such as Steering or Braking systems, and analyzing vehicle CAN logs.

Responsibilities:

Test Case Development:

1. Develop comprehensive test cases for Automotive systems, with a focus on Steering and Braking systems.
2. Ensure test cases cover functional, performance, and reliability aspects of the systems.

Vector Tools Expertise:

1. Utilize vector tools, such as CANoe or CANalyzer, proficiently for testing and analysis purposes.
2. Implement and optimize test configurations within vector tools.

CAPL Programming:

1. Leverage CAPL programming language to develop test scripts and automation tools.
2. Collaborate with the development team to integrate CAPL scripts into the overall testing framework.

Scripting:

1. Develop and maintain scripts using either Python or VB Excel for automation of repetitive tasks and to enhance testing efficiency.

dSPACE HiL Setup:

1. Possess knowledge and experience with dSPACE HiL setups for simulation and testing.
2. Execute tests on dSPACE HiL systems and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

ECU Commissioning:

1. Apply expertise in ECU commissioning, ensuring successful integration and functionality of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) in the testing environment.

Domain Knowledge:

1. Possess a solid understanding of Automotive systems, particularly in the domains of Steering and Braking.
2. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Automotive technology.

CAN Log Analysis:

1. Analyze vehicle CAN logs to identify and troubleshoot issues.
2. Provide insights and recommendations based on the analysis of CAN logs.

Collaboration:

1. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, and quality assurance teams.
2. Participate in design reviews and provide input on testability aspects of the systems.

Documentation:

1. Maintain thorough documentation of test cases, test plans, and analysis reports.
2. Provide clear and concise reports on test results and identified issues.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
2. 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in Automotive testing.
3. Proficiency in vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer), CAPL programming, and scripting (Python or VB Excel).
4. Knowledge of dSPACE HiL setups.
5. Experience with ECU commissioning.
6. Strong background in Automotive systems, with a focus on Steering and Braking.
7. Experience in analyzing vehicle CAN logs.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
