Heat Treatment Operator

Job Description

Operate and monitor heat treatment equipment such as furnaces, quenching systems, and tempers used for processing fasteners and bolts. Perform heat treatment processes including annealing, tempering, quenching, hardening, and normalizing. Load and unload bolts and other fasteners onto trays, baskets, or conveyor belts for furnace processing. Set and adjust furnace controls, temperatures, soak times, and quenching media according to process requirements. Interpret and follow heat treatment process sheets, blueprints, and technical specifications. Conduct in-process inspections, including hardness testing (e.g., Rockwell, Brinell), and record results. Ensure consistent quality of heat-treated bolts and fasteners by adhering to metallurgical standards. Maintain process documentation and ensure traceability of all treated batches. Carry out routine maintenance and report malfunctions of heat treatment equipment. Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
