As a Safety Coordinator, HSC (Health and Safety Coordinator) will play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining a culture of safety within our organization. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager responsible for the region, HSC will be the primary safety point of contact for Bangalore Office, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. HSC responsibilities will include implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, providing training, and fostering a safety-conscious environment among site personnel. Key Responsibilities: 1. Collaborate with the Health and Safety Manager to implement regional safety initiatives and ensure alignment with company-wide objectives. 2. Develop and implement site-specific safety policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with regulatory requirements and corporate guidelines. 3. Conduct regular inspections and audits of the site to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. 4. Provide safety training and education to employees, contractors, and visitors, covering topics such as emergency procedures, hazard recognition, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use. 5. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence. 6. Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and corrective actions. 7. Collaborate with cross-functional groups to address safety concerns, implement risk mitigation strategies, and promote a proactive approach to safety. 8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary. 9. Serve as a resource and point of contact for safety-related inquiries, issues, and initiatives at the site, liaising with corporate safety personnel and external agencies as needed. 10. Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability among site personnel through regular communication, recognition of safety achievements, and active participation in safety initiatives. Education & Competencies: Bachelor's degree preferably in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A minimum 10 years of proven experience in health and safety management, preferably in an IT or technology-driven environment. Strong knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards, such as OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, can write reports effectively. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management software. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
