Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for the Head of Operations, located in Chakan. The Head of Operations will oversee and optimize daily operations, manage teams, and ensure efficient resource allocation. Responsibilities include planning and implementing operational strategies, monitoring performance metrics, optimizing processes, and ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines. The role requires strong leadership to drive collaboration across departments and maintain high-quality service to clients.


Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Production Management

  • Oversee daily plant operations for packaging materials (corrugated boxes, Wooden Boxes, Plastic Covers, flexible packaging, tapes, labels, etc.).
  • Ensure timely production planning, scheduling, job allocation, and execution.
  • Monitor machine utilization, workflow efficiency, and output quality.
  • Coordinate with store, purchase, sales, and dispatch teams for smooth operations.

2. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce quality standards (ISO, GMP, internal SOPs).
  • Ensure raw materials and finished goods meet quality specifications.
  • Reduce rejection rates and improve overall product quality.

3. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Manage procurement forecasts and vendor coordination.
  • Ensure optimum inventory levels for raw materials, packaging consumables, and finished goods.
  • Control wastage and implement cost-saving measures.

4. Team Leadership

  • Supervise production staff, supervisors, operators, and warehouse team.
  • Conduct training, performance evaluations, and skill development programs.
  • Maintain discipline, safety protocols, and teamwork within the unit.

5. Customer Coordination

  • Coordinate with sales teams or clients for production timelines, quality expectations, and order fulfillment.
  • Handle customer escalations related to product quality or timelines.

6. Strategic & Process Improvement

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Optimize production cost, manpower efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, MIS reports, and operational KPIs.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 7–8 years of experience in

    packaging industry operations

    (Corrugated & Wooden boxes, Plastic Covers, Metal, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of

    packaging materials

    , coatings, adhesives, printing techniques, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with production planning, operations control, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage large teams and coordinate multi-department workflows.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle clients professionally.
