Role & responsibilities Head of Operations for a public listed auto component / manufacturing client *Must have min. 25 years of experience in Manufacturing Industry* * Candidate must have Iron, machine shop, machining experience, NOT looking for Aluminium or forging side experience* *Industry preferred - automotive, auto components* Edu - B Tech/BE Responsible for overseeing the entire operational strategy and execution of smooth functioning of plants. The role ensures operational excellence, production efficiency, quality control, and business growth by aligning all functional areas with the company's strategic goals. Well versed with manufacturing processes of Machining & Foundry, plant operations, and industrial engineering. Key Responsibility Area: • Operational Management Oversee daily operations of Foundry & Machine Shop, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely production. • Team Leadership Lead, train, and optimize workforce utilization while fostering a collaborative work environment. • Quality & Compliance Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental norms. • Cost & Budget Control Manage budgets, optimize costs, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising efficiency. • Strategic & Continuous Improvement Drive process improvements, lean manufacturing, and technology adoption for long-term growth. • Customer & Supplier Coordination – Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to meet material needs, customer demands, and delivery schedules. • Performance Monitoring – Track key metrics (KRAs & KPIs) and implement corrective actions to enhance overall plant performance. Mandatory Skills: • Well versed with manufacturing processes of Machining & Foundry, plant operations, and industrial engineering. • Familiarity with Modern Manufacturing Concepts like lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
