Job Title: Head of Material Management Department: Material Management Location: Head Office, Nagpur Reports To: Director Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy: Lead the Material Management team, providing strategic direction, mentoring, and performance management. Develop and implement material management strategies and best practices to optimize supply chain efficiency. Material Planning & Procurement: Work closely with project managers and construction teams to forecast material needs and ensure timely procurement. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors for competitive pricing and terms while ensuring the highest quality standards. Maintain and update an effective material procurement plan based on project schedules and budget. Inventory Management: Manage and monitor material inventories to ensure accurate tracking of stock levels, order status, and delivery schedules. Implement and maintain systems for effective material storage, stock rotation, and issue control to minimize wastage and loss. Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure compliance with company standards and project requirements. Logistics & Distribution: Coordinate the timely and cost-effective transportation and delivery of materials to various project sites. Manage the distribution of materials across multiple construction sites, ensuring proper allocation based on project needs. Ensure materials are delivered in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines. Budget Management & Cost Control: Monitor material costs and ensure the material management processes align with project budgets. Implement strategies to reduce material waste, optimize the use of resources, and manage supplier contracts to keep material costs within the projects financial parameters. Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all material management activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. Enforce safety protocols in the handling, storage, and transportation of materials to ensure a safe working environment on all sites. Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular reports on material usage, procurement status, inventory levels, and cost analysis. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all material transactions and deliveries. Required Qualifications and Experience : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management. Proven experience of more than 15 years in material management within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of inventory management
