Job Description

TORM India is looking for highly experienced Head of Accounts Payable and Expense Management to oversee the end-to-end Procure to Pay (P2P) and employee expense management. The Head of Accounts Payable and Expense Management will lead and optimize the end-to-end payables process across TORM’s global entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all activities. The role involves managing P2P, employee reimbursements, credit card and expense management systems, and ensuring adherence to group policies and regulatory standards. The incumbent will play a critical role in digitalizing accounts payable processes.

Your Role:


Center of Excellence is part of Group Business Finance. Group Business Finance is furthermore responsible for general accounting, business controlling, voyage controlling and technical business controlling. Group Business Finance is also responsible for financial systems and processes across the Group and the internal reporting to the business / divisions.


You will be managing a team of nine members. You will report to the Head of Group General Accounting and will be part of Center of Excellence Team.



Leadership

  • Acting as the strategic anchor for all payable and expense management functions, translating group objectives into clear operational priorities and measurable key results for the team.
  • Aligning AP and Expense strategies with TORM’s global finance transformation roadmap, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and compliance.
  • Building and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering accountability, technical excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Investing in talent development through training, certifications, and clear career progression paths.
  • Engaging with team and developing objectives and development plan together through one-on-one meetings


Stakeholder management

  • Building strong working relationships with Procurement, Treasury, Taxation, Operations, and HR teams.
  • Serving as the point of escalation for vendor, employee, and interdepartmental queries.


Systems, Process Excellence & Automation

  • Driving process optimization, automation, and digitization within AP and Expense functions to improve turnaround time and accuracy.
  • Leading implementation or upgrades of ERP modules (e.g., D365) related to payables and expense management.
  • Developing dashboards and KPIs for management reporting — such as DPO (Days Payable Outstanding), processing time, and exception rate.


Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Designing and implementing internal controls over AP and expense processes to efficient and watertight processes.
  • Liaising with internal/external auditors and ensuring all AP-related audit deliverables are accurate and timely.
  • Leading compliance with SOX/IFRS/IND-AS as relevant to the TORM Group.


Accounts Payable Operations

  • Overseeing full cycle of accounts payable activities including invoice validation, approvals, posting, and payments for TORM global entities.
  • Owning and managing vendor master across group companies.
  • Ensuring compliance with group accounting policies, local tax laws (VAT, GST, TDS, withholding tax), and international payment regulations.
  • Overseeing vendor reconciliations and ensure optimal aging or overdue liabilities.
  • Monitoring open POs and hygiene for overall P2P process.
  • Owning interface between Navision and Sertica or similar systems for payable cycle.


Expense Management and credit card process

  • Championing digital transformation and process excellence in AP and expense management.
  • Implementing digital solutions for expense management across TORM Group
  • Overseeing employee expense reimbursements, travel advances, and corporate card settlements.
  • Managing the Group’s expense management system (e.g., Concur or similar), ensuring automation, policy adherence, and audit readiness.
  • Reviewing and implementing policies for travel, entertainment, and expense claims to maintain cost efficiency and policy compliance.



We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills who has experience in a leadership role and has managed accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate must have change management and transformation driven mindset and strong focus on delivery and is also empathetic with team.


To succeed in this role, you bring:


  • A Chartered Accountant (CA) / CMA / MBA (Finance) certification/degree with 8–10 years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing global or multi-entity AP processes.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/IND-AS, GST, TDS, and cross-border payment compliance.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP systems (D365 / Oracle) and expense management tools (e.g. Concur).
  • Proven track record in process automation and control design.
  • Exposure to the maritime/shipping industry or other capital-intensive sectors preferred.
  • Team player skills with understanding of the importance of keeping deadlines and delivering top class services to our internal and external partners.
