We have been mandated by a large conglomerate into Cement business for the below mentioned position. Position Title : Head - Mechanical Maintenance Location: Anywhere in North India / South India / East India Qualification : BE / B Tech - Mechanical Experience: 15 to 18 Years Purpose of the role : The Head - Mechanical Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the mechanical maintenance activities of the integrated cement plant and grinding unit. The role ensures optimal equipment availability, reliability, and efficiency while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs. Key Responsibilities: 1. Maintenance Planning & Execution: Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for all mechanical equipment. Ensure smooth operation of critical machinery such as crushers, VRM, kiln, cooler, ball mills, packing machines, etc. Coordinate with operations to minimize plant shutdowns and optimize maintenance schedules. 2. Equipment Reliability & Performance: Monitor equipment performance, identify potential failures, and initiate timely corrective actions. Implement condition monitoring techniques to enhance equipment reliability. Analyze breakdown patterns and implement solutions to reduce recurrence. 3. Project Management & Upgrades: Plan and execute mechanical modifications, retrofits, and capacity enhancement projects. Drive cost-effective improvements and implement best practices in plant maintenance. Evaluate and recommend technology upgrades to improve plant performance. 4. Spare Parts & Inventory Management: Ensure optimal inventory levels of critical spares to avoid delays in maintenance activities. Work closely with procurement teams for cost-effective sourcing of spare parts and materials. Establish robust vendor relationships for timely supply of mechanical components. 5. Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance in all maintenance activities. Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety measures for mechanical maintenance teams. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance department. 6. Team Leadership & Training: Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, supervisors, and technicians. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team competency in maintenance techniques and safety procedures. Foster teamwork, motivation, and high-performance culture within the maintenance department. 7. Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage the mechanical maintenance budget. Optimize maintenance costs while ensuring high equipment reliability and efficiency. Identify cost-saving initiatives and implement measures to reduce maintenance expenses. Qualification & Experience: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. 15+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the cement industry. Proven experience in handling both integrated cement plants and grinding units.
