Head Chef and Baker – Dom’s Bakehouse

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra
Position: Full-time

We’re looking for an experienced and creative Head Chef and Baker to lead the kitchen at Dom’s Bakehouse, a sandwich deli and bakehouse. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, an innovative approach to product development, and deep expertise in menu design, kitchen operations, and culinary team management.

About the Role:

As the Head Chef, you’ll be responsible for leading all culinary development and operations during both the development and operational phases of the business. You’ll oversee menu creation, testing, inventory and cost control, kitchen staff management, and consistent quality standards, while driving innovation and ensuring the brand’s culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development & Innovation: Design and refine menu items, ensuring seasonal variety and alignment with brand identity.
  • Recipe Development & Standardization: Develop, test, and document recipes for consistency and scalability.
  • Product Development & Pairing: Lead R&D for new food concepts, ensuring perfect pairing and menu balance.
  • Inventory & Cost Management: Control food costs, vendor relationships, and ensure efficient procurement and waste reduction.
  • Staff Hiring, Training & Management: Recruit, train, and manage kitchen and service staff, promoting operational discipline and teamwork.
  • Quality & Hygiene: Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, hygiene protocols, and FSSAI compliance.
  • Roster & Shift Management: Create staff schedules to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee smooth daily kitchen operations, from prep to service.
  • Content Collaboration: Partner with the marketing team on food photography, video shoots, and digital content.
  • R&D and Consistency: Maintain consistent recipe quality and continually research new trends in café dining and culinary innovation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional culinary and baking experience, ideally in café, restaurant, or product development roles.
  • Proven leadership in managing kitchen operations and teams.
  • Expertise in new product development, menu creation, and cost management.
  • Strong understanding of inventory systems, kitchen workflow, and safety regulations.
  • Experience in recipe standardization and brand-aligned food innovation.

Salary Range - 35-40k

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
