Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Finance and Accounting to lead our financial operations and ensure strong fiscal management. This role is crucial in maintaining financial stability, compliance, and efficiency within the company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in taxation, financial reporting, and corporate finance, particularly within the steel or manufacturing sector. Additionally, the role requires representing the company in departmental inquiries, IT, GST matters, and liaising with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Develop and monitor financial controls, policies, and procedures to maintain the integrity of financial reporting. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights for decision-making. Taxation & Compliance: Ensure compliance with GST, TDS/TCS, income tax, advance tax , and all statutory regulations. Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, and financial institutions to manage regulatory requirements and assessments. Keep up-to-date with financial legislation and recommend necessary changes to company policies. Banking & Cash Flow Management: Manage banking relationships, oversee transactions, and optimize cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial health. Evaluate and implement banking solutions that enhance financial efficiency. Budgeting & Cost Control: Lead the budgeting process, forecasting financial performance, and ensuring alignment with business goals. Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures to improve profitability. Auditing, Internal Controls & Regulatory Liaison: Conduct regular audits and financial risk assessments to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. Establish and maintain strong internal control mechanisms to safeguard company assets. Represent the company in departmental inquiries, IT, GST matters, and financial audits to ensure smooth resolution. Act as the liaison with government authorities, taxation departments, and other regulatory bodies for compliance and reporting. Interdepartmental Coordination & Stakeholder Relations: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of financial operations across the organization. Represent the company in financial and operational discussions with banks, financial institutions, auditors, and external agencies. Provide guidance and financial insights to senior management for strategic decision-making. Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and efficiency. Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with business objectives. Desired Profile: Experience & Qualifications: Experience: 10+ years in finance, accounting, and taxation, preferably in the steel or manufacturing sector. Education: CA, CMA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent professional certification. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and best practices in corporate finance. Key Skills: Financial Statements & Reporting: Proficient in financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting. Analytical & Decision-Making: Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and financial strategy development. Finance & Budgeting: Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management. Regulatory & Compliance: Hands-on experience in handling GST, Income Tax, TDS/TCS, Banking, and Departmental Inquiries. Stakeholder Management: Ability to liaise with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies on behalf of the company. Leadership & Team Management: Ability to lead a finance team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Tally, SAP, or other financial ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
