About The Role

  • We are seeking a Junior Hardware Test Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to join our quality assurance team. You will be responsible for testing and validating our hardware designs to ensure they meet all performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
  • You will execute test procedures, develop new test methods, analyze results, build test fixtures, and work with the hardware team to identify and resolve issues. This role provides comprehensive experience with test methodologies, measurement techniques, and systematic validation approaches.

What You'll Do

At Quin, this isn't just a job, it's a mission. Here's how you'll make an impact:
  • Execute Hardware Test Plans: Run comprehensive validation tests on prototype and production hardware following detailed procedures. Document results systematically and identify deviations from specifications.
  • Develop Test Procedures: Create clear, detailed test procedures for functional validation, performance characterization, and reliability testing. Make tests repeatable and comprehensive.
  • Characterize Electrical Performance: Measure and analyze power consumption, signal integrity, sensor accuracy, RF performance, and other electrical parameters. Compare against specifications and identify issues.
  • Build Test Fixtures: Design and fabricate test fixtures, cables, and setups needed for hardware validation. Create tools that enable efficient, repeatable testing across multiple units.
  • Conduct Environmental Testing: Run temperature, humidity, vibration, shock, and drop tests using environmental chambers. Validate hardware performs correctly under extreme conditions.
  • Analyze Test Data: Process test data, create reports, identify trends, and flag anomalies. Use statistical methods to assess yield and reliability. Work with engineering on root cause analysis.
  • Support Production Testing: Develop production test procedures, work with manufacturing partners on test station setup, train factory technicians, and validate production testing effectiveness.
  • Maintain Test Infrastructure: Keep lab equipment calibrated, organized, and maintained. Manage test documentation, ensure fixtures are in good condition, and maintain test environment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering: Report findings clearly to hardware and firmware teams. Support debugging sessions and validate fixes systematically.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hardware testing, validation, or lab technician experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field
  • Proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, power supplies, spectrum analyzers
  • Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to testing and documentation
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and circuit functionality
  • Basic understanding of electronics, measurement principles, and test methodologies
  • Good technical writing skills for test documentation and reports

Good to Have

  • Experience with environmental testing chambers and reliability testing
  • Knowledge of RF testing techniques and spectrum analyzer usage
  • Familiarity with automated test equipment (ATE) and test automation
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, data processing, and visualization
  • Experience with test automation or scripting (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW)
  • Knowledge of product qualification standards and test requirements
  • Background in IoT device testing, wearables, or consumer electronics
