Role Overview As a Hardware & Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the setup, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware systems and network components. You will work closely with the team, security professionals, and end-users to ensure seamless network operations and hardware availability across the organization. Key Responsibilities Installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripherals. Perform diagnostics and resolve hardware-related issues (memory, storage, boot failure, etc.). Conduct preventive maintenance and performance checks on physical systems. Manage IT inventory, asset tagging, AMC contracts, and RMA processes. Set up and maintain LAN/WAN architecture including switches, routers, access points, patch panels, etc. Configure and monitor network components for performance, load balancing, and fault tolerance. Troubleshoot network issues such as packet drops, IP conflicts, DNS/DHCP failures. Support structured cabling, port management, and Wi-Fi optimization. Apply firmware, driver, and OS updates to reduce vulnerabilities. Coordinate basic firewall and antivirus updates across systems. Assist in maintaining endpoint security policies and adherence to IT protocols. Support compliance audits by generating and maintaining logs, inventories, and documentation. Guide users with setup, connectivity, and access issues (VPN, shared drives, printer queues). Document processes, configurations, and known error resolutions. Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or vendors with proper logs and RCA summaries. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or related discipline; or equivalent diploma with hands-on experience. 0–3 years of experience in hardware support and/ or network support roles. Strong knowledge of Windows/ Linux OS, BIOS, hardware components and diagnostics. Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, and VLAN concepts. Familiarity with routers, switches, Wi-Fi controllers and patch panels. Experience with basic IT tools: Remote Desktop, IP Scanner, Device Manager, BIOS config. Soft Skills Excellent troubleshooting and analytical thinking. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Willingness to learn, adapt, and work under pressure.
