Role & responsibilities Tank Operations Perform product storage, transfer, loading, and unloading operations safely and efficiently. Product Handling Ensure correct receipt, storage, sampling, blending, and dispatch of petroleum/chemical products. Monitoring & Control – Operate pumps, valves, meters, and control systems (DCS/SCADA) for smooth operations. Gauging & Inventory – Conduct manual/automatic tank gauging, maintain accurate stock records, and report variances. Safety & Compliance – Follow HSE standards, permit-to-work (PTW) procedures, and comply with statutory and company guidelines. Emergency Response – Act promptly in case of spills, leaks, fire, or any abnormal situation. Equipment Checks – Inspect tanks, pipelines, pumps, and firefighting systems; report maintenance needs. Quality Control – Collect and test product samples to maintain quality standards. Documentation – Maintain logbooks, shift records, and operational reports. Coordination – Communicate with shift in-charge, control room, maintenance, and logistics teams for smooth operations. Housekeeping – Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safe conditions in the tank farm area. Preferred candidate profile Educational Qualification ITI / Diploma in Chemical, Petrochemical or Petroleum Engineering. Graduate in Science (Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry) – added advantage. Experience 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Tank Farm / Terminal / Refinery / Petrochemical operations. Knowledge of petroleum product handling, storage, and transfer systems. Experience in loading/unloading (road tanker, barge, or pipeline). Technical Skills Familiar with pumps, valves, meters, and gauging systems. Exposure to SCADA/DCS operations. Understanding of HSE, fire & safety, and emergency response procedures. Knowledge of inventory control and product sampling methods. Behavioral Skills Strong sense of safety and responsibility. Ability to work in shifts and under pressure. Good communication and teamwork skills. Discipline and attention to detail in operations. Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory) Fire & Safety Training / HSE certification. Permit to Work (PTW) / Authorized Gas Tester. First Aid & Firefighting Training.
