We co-create and execute the future vision of 400+ clients with the help of our 44,000+ employees.Oversee and manage all aspects of ceded and assumed reinsurance accounting, including complex treaty and facultative agreements, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to reinsurance, ensuring all accounts and balances are reconciled, and discrepancies are fully resolved and documented.Lead cross-functional collaboration efforts with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and finance teams to ensure seamless data flow and accurate processing of all reinsurance data.Prepare, review, and present comprehensive financial reports and analytics related to reinsurance activity for senior management, auditors, and regulatory bodies.Manage all internal and external audits, serving as the primary liaison and ensuring complete compliance and documentation.Own the preparation and submission of all regulatory filings, including NAIC and Schedule F reporting, ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements.Oversee all cash settlement activities for reinsurance premiums and recoveries, including managing collections, payments, and generating aging reports.Provide technical accounting guidance by interpreting complex reinsurance contract terms to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with agreement provisions and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS/SAP).Drive the identification, recommendation, and implementation of process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall control of reinsurance accounting functions.Lead and mentor a team of reinsurance accounting staff, providing guidance, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Monitor and interpret changes in accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS/SAP) and regulatory requirements, implementing necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance.Expert-level knowledge of reinsurance concepts, including treaty and facultative reinsurance structures.Thorough understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP)).Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Workday, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with a focus on strategic decision-making.Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting complex financial information to senior leadership.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Strong relationship management skills to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners like reinsurers and brokers.Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience:Minimum of 8-12+ years of progressive experience in insurance or reinsurance accounting is required.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role, with proven leadership skills.
