The Senior Delivery Manager will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end delivery of IT programs and projects within the insurance domain. This role ensures seamless execution of projects, alignment with business goals, stakeholder satisfaction, and delivery excellence across multiple workstreams and teams. The incumbent will manage client relationships, delivery governance, and ensure adherence to quality, timelines, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage delivery of multiple IT projects within the insurance domain (Life, General, or Health Insurance).
- Ensure alignment of project outcomes with business and technology objectives.
- Drive delivery excellence through effective planning, resource management, and governance.
- Manage stakeholder communication across business, IT, and vendor teams.
- Oversee end-to-end SDLC and Agile delivery processes, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, and implement mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, testing, infrastructure, and operations.
- Drive automation, AI adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives across delivery functions.
- Manage team performance, mentoring project managers and technical leads to enhance delivery capability.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources and adherence to financial targets (budget, cost control, forecasting).
- Support pre-sales, RFP responses, and client presentations as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- 12–18 years of overall IT experience with at least 6–8 years in project or delivery management.
- Strong domain expertise in Insurance (Life, General, or Health) — familiarity with policy admin systems, claims, underwriting, and digital insurance platforms preferred.
- Proven experience in managing large, multi-location delivery programs and distributed teams.
- Excellent understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies; SAFe Agile certification preferred.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Experience with IT governance, audit, and compliance processes in a regulated environment.
- Prior experience working with global teams or captive IT centers is an advantage.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification preferred.
