Graduate Engineering Trainee (GET)

We are looking for a motivated Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) to join our plastic injection molding factory. The trainee will work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to understand molding processes, improve efficiency, reduce rejection, and ensure consistent product quality. This role offers hands-on exposure to shop-floor operations and a clear growth path into a Production or Process Engineer role.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Process Support

• Assist in daily injection molding operations and machine monitoring
• Understand mold setup, machine parameters, cycle time, and material handling
• Support process optimization to reduce rejection and improve productivity
• Monitor shift-wise production output and downtime

Quality Control

• Perform in-process quality checks for molded and painted plastic parts
• Identify defects such as sink marks, short shots, flash, warpage, and paint issues
• Maintain quality records and assist in root cause analysis of rejections
• Ensure adherence to customer quality standards

Mold & Machine Coordination

• Coordinate with mold maintenance and machine operators
• Assist during mold trials, changeovers, and first-off approvals
• Report mold or machine abnormalities to seniors

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily production, rejection, and efficiency reports
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety guidelines
• Assist in implementing process improvements and Kaizen activities

Team Coordination

• Work closely with operators, supervisors, and quality inspectors
• Ensure discipline, cleanliness, and 5S on the shop floor

Qualifications & Skills

Education

• B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Plastics, or Polymer Engineering

Skills Required

• Basic understanding of plastic injection molding processes
• Willingness to work on the shop floor
• Strong observation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and reporting

• Hands-on attitude and discipline
• Interest in manufacturing and process improvement
• Good communication and coordination skills

Working Conditions
