Job Description

Role Overview:

The Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) will work with the R&D team to support the design, development, testing, and validation of embedded hardware, FPGA-based systems, control systems, and robotic solutions. This role involves hands-on engineering work, learning organizational development processes, and contributing to ongoing projects under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist hardware design team with schematic creation, PCB layout reviews, component selection, and board-level testing.
  • Support FPGA module development (VHDL/Verilog) for signal processing and control applications.
  • Work on microcontroller-based firmware development using C/C++ for embedded and real-time applications.
  • Build, modify, test, and troubleshoot prototypes as per design requirements.
  • Prepare test plans, procedures, and detailed reports for hardware/system validation.
  • Assist in integration and testing of robotic mechanisms, actuators, and sensors.
  • Perform electrical measurements, debugging, and documentation under senior guidance.
  • Support prototype development, assembly, wiring, and validation activities in the R&D lab.
  • Research and evaluate components, sensors, connectors, and hardware interfaces for projects.
  • Maintain BOMs, design notes, test documentation, and engineering reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, QA) during product development.
  • Follow company processes, safety standards, and engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Mandatory:

  • Basics of electronics, embedded systems, microcontrollers, and digital design.
  • Understanding of circuits, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
  • Hands-on experience with lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies).
  • Interest in robotics, control systems, automation, and real-time embedded applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work in teams and take ownership of tasks.

Good to Have:

  • Basic FPGA concepts, exposure to Verilog/VHDL.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation.
  • Exposure to robotics platforms, motor control, RTOS, or image sensor interfaces.
