Must have skills:
- Strong experience in strategy in utilities and energy sectors
- Deep understanding of policy and regulatory drivers shaping utilities reform, energy transition, and infrastructure modernization in public sector contexts
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging government ministries, regulators, and public utilities
- Advanced analytical problem-solving skills, including benchmarking, diagnostics, business case design, and roadmap development
- Prior experience with public sector utility clients on large-scale strategic transformations
Good to have skills:
- Exposure to emerging clean technologies such as hydrogen, storage, carbon capture, and AI for utilities
- Understanding of policy and regulatory frameworks for utilities and clean energy across regions (India, Middle East, North America, Europe)
- Experience in operating model design, digital enablement, or smart infrastructure transformation strategies
- AI use case design, prioritization and implementation
- Familiarity with clean energy financing mechanisms and incentive models
Job Summary:
Partner with public sector leaders, regulators, and utilities to define and deliver utilities and clean energy strategies that enable energy transition and infrastructure modernization. Lead strategic visioning, benchmarking, and roadmap design efforts that embed innovation, digital adoption, and fiscal efficiency. Develop operating models and strategic partnerships that drive measurable environmental, social, and economic outcomes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Utilities and Energy Transition Strategy
- Lead diagnostic assessments and strategy formulation for utilities modernization, including renewable integration, smart grids, water and waste management, and resource optimization
- Develop evidence-based roadmaps and operating models that balance affordability, and reliability
- Support public sector clients in developing budget efficiency and effectiveness strategies, ensuring cost optimization and resource alignment with long-term mission outcomes
- Apply benchmarking, policy analysis, and data-driven insights to guide public sector utilities reform and clean energy adoption
Clean Technology and Innovation
- Identify emerging clean technologies (renewables, hydrogen, storage, smart metering, AI) and evaluate their strategic relevance for public utilities
- Develop investment frameworks, business cases, and innovation roadmaps for clean technology scale-up
- Advise on AI strategy and use-case development to accelerate performance improvement of utilities using emerging technologies
Stakeholder Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams in delivering transformation solutions for government clients
- Support efforts of global sales team to identify and win potential opportunities within the practice
- Provide industry expertise in Public Service industry segments
- Develop assets and methodologies, point-of-view, research or white papers, internal tools, or materials for use by larger community
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in strategy frameworks, financial modeling, impact assessment tools, and digital utilities platforms
- Excellent communication skills in business writing, presentations, and stakeholder engagement
- Project and program management expertise in multi-stakeholder public-sector environment
