We have been mandated by a large global conglomerate for the below mentioned position. Position Name : GM (Process) DRI Location : Jharkhand Qualification : Diploma / B. Tech / B.E Mechanical / Metallurgy / Production Experience : 20+ Years Job Purpose: The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant operations with a capacity of 500/600/900 Tons Per Day (TPD). This role requires a thorough understanding of DRI plant processes, optimization techniques, team leadership, and adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards. The GM will lead all production activities, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining plant reliability and operational excellence. Role & responsibilities : Operations Management: Oversee end-to-end operations of the 500 / 600 / 900 TPD DRI plant, ensuring optimal plant performance and production targets. Monitor and control process parameters to achieve high product quality and operational efficiency. Ensure continuous production flow with minimal downtime. Process Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement and implement measures to enhance productivity, reduce energy consumption, and improve yield. Analyse data, troubleshoot issues, and ensure best practices are followed for cost-effective operations. Introduce new technologies and methodologies for process improvement. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of process engineers, shift in-charges, and plant operators. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement among staff. Ensure adequate training programs are in place for employees to maintain technical and operational competence. Maintenance & Reliability: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and preventive maintenance schedules are followed. Minimize unplanned downtime by addressing process bottlenecks and breakdowns promptly. Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including environmental, health, and safety standards. Promote a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring safety practices and policies. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Financial Management: Prepare and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability. Optimize resource utilization to reduce operational costs without compromising quality or safety. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior management, suppliers, and customers to meet business objectives. Coordinate with cross-functional teams for smooth supply chain management and logistics.
