Global Raw Material Manager

Job Description

Work in close relation with Daramic plants and Technical Centers for testing and qualification of raw materials, formulas, product/process and specific projects Provide technical support to the worldwide purchasing managers in raw materials sourcing and qualification of new suppliers. Participate in the development of raw materials, suppliers and establish partnership to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage in purchasing raw materials for the company. Manage the WW PTS (Plant Trial) /RM (Raw Material) /formula system and raw materials specifications, and collaborate with all the site managers, CI & Quality engineers/leaders, Supplier quality manager, purchasing teams in getting the system running with efficiency. Communicate raw materials tracking and technical information to key stakeholders. Provide technical support to Daramic plants when conducting plant trials and raw materials testing. Coordinate the quality evaluations of the trial materials with the QC Managers/leaders and Global labs (DTC, ETC, ITC and NTC labs). Coordinate the qualification/research work and approvals of new raw materials with necessary documentation. Support the WW Purchasing Managers for alternative supply source development and for technical screening and specification definition of raw materials. Travel to sites if required during key raw materials qualifications. Participate to the technical and commercial meetings with the suppliers when needed. Participate in development of suppliers in raw material quality improvement and cost reduction programs. Minimize the risk and dependency exposure by developing alternative suppliers and wherever possible establishing multi-sourcing. Ensure department activities and practices comply with all applicable safely, regulatory and quality system requirements including 5S & lean management. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 shall be preferred. Lead & develop team for excellence. Periodically assess team performance. Aware about basic analytical testing for raw material & equipment. Able to manage trouble shooting. Ensure safe handling of test equipment & manage capital cost with new equipment. Knowledge of lead acid battery will be an additional weightage.
