Visiting job sites to analyze space availability, design needs and the purpose of the space Attending client meetings to understand the design needs and client preferences regarding interior styles and colors Creating initial design sketches, color themes and ideas based on client requirements and space availability Getting approval from the client before creating CAD designs and detailed briefs for workers and supervisors Hiring contractors and vendors to implement design ideas, such as carpenters, painters, plumbers, electricians and artists Arranging client visits and keeping everyone involved in the project appraised of its progress Ensuring project completion within the allocated budget and timeline1 To become an interior designer, one usually needs a bachelor’s degree in interior design or a related field, as well as a portfolio of previous works. Some interior designers may also need to obtain a license or certification, depending on the state or country they work in. Interior designers should have expertise in layout, color, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations. Key Responsibilities1. Site Management & Coordination Supervise day-to-day onsite activities, ensuring work is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and labour teams for smooth workflow. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized site environment. 2. Quality Control Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with design and quality standards. Identify and rectify onsite issues promptly. 3. Project Execution & Monitoring Track progress of work and ensure timely completion of tasks as per project schedule. Manage installation of furniture, fixtures, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, civil and other interior components. Ensure accurate measurement taking and reporting. 4. Communication & Reporting Act as a bridge between the design team, project manager, and onsite teams. Provide daily/weekly progress reports, site photos, and updates. Escalate project delays or issues for quick resolution. 5. Material & Resource Management Monitor material deliveries and usage at site. Maintain inventory and ensure proper handling and storage of materials. 6. Compliance & Safety Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety checks and ensure proper PPE usage. Required Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of interior design drawings (civil, electrical, plumbing, furniture). Ability to manage multiple sites (if required). Good communication and negotiation skills. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in measurement tools and basic site documentation. Knowledge of materials and finishing standards. Eligibility Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design / Interior Architecture or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of onsite supervision experience in interior fit-out projects. Experience working with residential, commercial, or retail interior projects preferred. Additional Requirements Willingness to travel to multiple project sites. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong team coordination skills.
