Job Summary: We are seeking a highly meticulous, safety-conscious, and skilled Glass Sheet Packaging Specialist to join our team in Nashik. The successful candidate will be responsible for the precise and secure packaging of various types and sizes of glass sheets, ensuring they are adequately protected from damage during storage, handling, and transportation. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, expertise in using appropriate packaging materials, and strict adherence to safety protocols for handling fragile goods. Key Responsibilities: Glass Sheet Handling & Inspection: Carefully handle individual glass sheets or stacks, using appropriate techniques and material handling equipment (e.g., vacuum lifters, overhead cranes, pallet jacks) to prevent scratches, cracks, or breakage. Conduct visual inspections of glass sheets for any defects, damage, or non-conformities immediately prior to packaging. Report any quality issues or damaged glass to the supervisor or quality control department. Packaging Operations: Select and prepare appropriate packaging materials (e.g., wooden crates, cardboard boxes, foam inserts, edge protectors, plastic wrap, interleaf paper, desiccant bags) based on glass type, size, weight, customer specifications, and transportation method. Measure, cut, and assemble custom-fit packaging components (e.g., wooden frames, supports, cardboard dividers) to securely brace glass sheets within packages. Utilize specialized techniques to cushion, interleave, and secure glass sheets within crates or bundles to prevent movement, abrasion, and impact damage. Operate packaging machinery such as strapping tools, stretch wrappers, and banding equipment. Ensure proper sealing, wrapping, and labeling of all packages with necessary information, including Fragile warnings, orientation arrows, dimensions, weight, product codes, batch numbers, and destination details. Safety & Housekeeping: Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as cut-resistant gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection. Follow safe lifting practices, ergonomics, and material handling procedures, especially for heavy or oversized glass sheets. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around the packaging station, ensuring packaging waste is disposed of properly. Report any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly. Documentation & Coordination: Accurately record details of packaged items, package dimensions, gross/net weight, and batch information on packing lists, dispatch notes, or in the inventory management system. Assist in the safe and efficient loading of packaged glass onto trucks or containers, ensuring optimal stacking and securing for transit. Coordinate closely with Production, Quality Control, Dispatch, and Logistics teams to ensure timely packaging of orders and smooth material flow.
