Machine Learning in Remote Sensing (Google Earth Engine (GEE))

🌍 Role: Geospatial AI Analyst

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Climate Hazard Mapping

• Use

  ML in GEE

  to detect and map physical climate hazards — floods, droughts, heat stress, and landslides.
• Perform

  change detection

  for both

  natural disasters

  (e.g., pre/post flood or landslide) and

  man-made changes

  (e.g., solar installations, urban expansion).
• Apply

  supervised and unsupervised classification

  for LULC, crop type, and vegetation health mapping — key inputs for climate value-at-risk models.

• Asset Exposure & Impact Assessment

• Identify

  climate-exposed assets

  and quantify

  potential physical impacts

  using geospatial ML models.
• Contribute to developing

  risk metrics and indices

  for climate risk monitoring and management.

• Visualization & Delivery

• Build and publish

  interactive GEE Apps

  for visualizing climate hazards and asset risks.
• Integrate results with

  Python APIs and GIS tools

  for scalable analytics and reporting.

🧠 Required Skills & Experience

• Proven,

  hands-on Machine Learning experience in Google Earth Engine (GEE)

  — this is mandatory.
• Proficiency in

  GEE App development

  .
• Expertise in

  Python

  , including GEE Python APIs and data handling libraries.
• Strong command over

  GIS tools (QGIS/ArcGIS) and geospatial operations

  .
• Ability to translate geospatial data into meaningful insights and visualizations.
