Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled GIS Developer to design, develop, and maintain geographic information systems (GIS) applications and tools. The ideal candidate will have experience working with spatial data, web mapping frameworks, and programming languages such as Python or JavaScript.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Develop, test, and deploy GIS-based applications and solutions.

·        Build and maintain geospatial automation scripts using Python and geo processing tools that support modeling, analytics, and dash boarding initiatives

·        Support spatial data integration into the Applied Information’s core platform via APIs, services, and other spatial formats.

·        Work with geospatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, raster data).

·        Design and implement custom tools and scripts using Python, ArcPy, or other GIS libraries.

·        Integrate GIS solutions with enterprise databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server).

·        Build and maintain interactive web maps and dashboards using platforms like Leaflet, OpenLayers, or ArcGIS Online.

·        Optimize spatial queries and conduct spatial analysis to support business needs.

·        Coordinate and collaborate with Applied Information’s Infrastructure team to support data engineering pipelines, including importing, cleaning, and transforming spatial datasets.

·        Maintain documentation, version control, and code quality standards

Required Skills and Qualifications:

·        3+ years in GIS development and spatial analysis.

·        Strong experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS.

·        Proficiency in Python (especially with ArcPy or GDAL/OGR libraries).

·        Experience with JavaScript and web mapping libraries (Leaflet, Open Layers, Map box).

·        Familiarity with spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial).

·        Understanding of geospatial concepts, projections, and coordinate systems.

·        Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Experience with REST APIs and geospatial web services (WMS, WFS).

·        Familiarity with cloud GIS platforms (ArcGIS Online, Google Earth Engine).

·        Knowledge of DevOps practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.

·        Experience with Microsoft PowerBI

·        Experience working with international team members.

·        Understanding of real-time or high-frequency spatial data (e.g., vehicle tracking data, traffic sensors, IoT feeds.
