Job Title: General Accountant Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu Job Type: Full-Time Experience: 2–5 years Reports To: Finance Manager / Accounting Head Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial records in compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. Key Responsibilities: Perform general accounting functions including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities. Maintain records for audits and ensure adherence to internal controls. Reconcile bank statements and other financial discrepancies. Support statutory compliance including GST, TDS, and Income Tax filings. Assist in closing monthly and annual books of accounts. Collaborate with internal departments and external auditors. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IND AS, IFRS). Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (CA Inter/MBA Finance is a plus). 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or shared service environment. Proficiency in accounting software (Tally ERP, SAP, Oracle, etc.). Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards and tax regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Preferred Skills: Experience in ERP systems (Tally,SAP, Oracle, etc.). Prior experience in handling audits or working with Big 4 firms. Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
