Job description: Job Title: (Garder) Horticulture Staff (Organic Vegetable Gardening) Location - Cabi De Rama, South Goa. Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Horticulture Staff member to join our resort's gardening team. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing organic vegetables for our resort's restaurants and ensuring the highest quality produce. Key Responsibilities: 1. *Organic Vegetable Gardening*: Plan, plant, maintain, and harvest organic vegetables, fruits, and herbs. 2. *Soil Preparation*: Prepare soil for organic gardening, including composting, mulching, and using natural fertilizers. 3. *Irrigation Management*: Manage irrigation systems to ensure optimal water usage and minimize waste. 4. *Pest and Disease Management*: Use organic methods to control pests and diseases, such as introducing beneficial insects and using natural pesticides. 5. *Crop Rotation*: Implement crop rotation techniques to maintain soil health and prevent pests and diseases. 6. *Harvesting and Quality Control*: Harvest produce at optimal times, inspect for quality, and ensure proper handling and storage. 7. *Maintain Garden Records*: Keep accurate records of planting, harvesting, and soil management. 8. *Collaborate with Chefs*: Work with resort chefs to plan and provide fresh, organic produce for menus. Requirements: 1. *Horticulture Experience*: 1- 3 years of experience in organic gardening, horticulture, or a related field. 2. *Organic Gardening Knowledge*: In-depth knowledge of organic gardening principles, including soil preparation, composting, and pest management. 3. *Physical Ability*: Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, and stand for long periods. 4. *Communication Skills*: Good communication and interpersonal skills. 5. *Certifications*: Valid certifications in organic gardening, permaculture, or a related field.
