GARAGE HELPER / TECHNICIAN

Job Summary:

The Garage Helper / Technician assists in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of vehicles and equipment in the workshop. This role supports senior mechanics and technicians in diagnosing mechanical problems, replacing parts, and ensuring vehicles are in safe working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist mechanics and technicians in vehicle inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks.
• Perform basic services such as oil changes, tire rotation, cleaning, and lubrication.
• Help in removing and installing vehicle parts like brakes, filters, belts, and batteries.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop area and tools.
• Assist in lifting, carrying, and holding parts or tools during repair work.
• Conduct minor repairs under supervision, following safety procedures.
• Check fluid levels and ensure all vehicles are topped up before delivery.
• Properly dispose of used oils, filters, and other waste materials in accordance with safety regulations.
• Report any tool damage or malfunction to the supervisor.
• Support the workshop team in vehicle testing and final quality checks.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
• Experience as a helper or trainee in a garage or mechanical workshop preferred.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy parts.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Understanding of workplace safety and tool handling.

Work Environment:

• Workshop / garage setting.
• Exposure to noise, oil, grease, and vehicle exhaust fumes.
• Requires use of safety gear (gloves, safety shoes, etc.).
