Role Overview

Fundraising Manager

product knowledge, strong market relationships, communication skills, and strategic sales execution

Key Responsibilities

1. Capital Raising & Sales Execution

  • Drive fundraising for the Category III AIF across channels such as:
    • Wealth Management Platforms (IIFL, Kotak, ICICI, Axis, Julius Baer, 360 One, Sanctum, etc.)
    • Private Banks
    • Family Offices
    • UHNI & HNI investors
    • Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs)
  • Actively manage the full sales cycle:
    • Lead generation
    • Investor meetings
    • Product presentations
    • Follow-ups
    • Conversion and onboarding
  • Achieve quarterly and annual fundraising targets through structured execution.

2. Channel & Relationship Management

  • Build and strengthen relationships with RMs, wealth heads, distributors, and RIAs.
  • Provide product trainings, market views, performance updates to channel partners.
  • Coordinate regular meetings, webinars, investment sessions with distribution partners.
  • Track competition updates, peer fund launches, and comparative product positioning.

3. Investor Engagement & Product Pitching

  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with UHNIs, HNIs, and family offices to explain strategy, performance, and risk controls.
  • Assist in structuring customised solutions or allocations for large-ticket investors.
  • Support the CIO/PM in investor roundtables and roadshows.
  • Maintain strong understanding of market trends, AIF product structures, and SEBI regulations.

4. Pipeline Management & Reporting

  • Maintain updated pipeline on CRM (LeadSquared, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, etc.).
  • Track and report fundraising metrics:
    • Leads Meetings Commitments Funds received
    • Channel-wise performance
    • Conversion ratios
  • Prepare weekly MIS reports for management and investment team review.

5. Coordination with Internal Stakeholders

  • Work closely with:
    • Investor Relations
    • Documentation & Legal
    • Operations & RTA
    • Compliance
  • Ensure timely KYC, onboarding, subscription execution, and investor communication.
  • Provide investor insights to the investment team for product strategy enhancements.

6. Marketing & Communication Support

  • Coordinate creation of high-quality fundraising collateral:
    • Pitch decks
    • Factsheets
    • Performance reports
    • Product notes
    • FAQs
  • Assist in arranging webinars, marketing campaigns, and digital events to drive investor engagement.

Key Skills & Competencies

Core Skills

  • Strong network within wealth channels, private banks, RIAs, and family offices.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to explain investment strategies clearly.
  • Understanding of AIF structures (Cat II / Cat III) and regulatory framework.
  • Robust knowledge of equity markets, risk, performance metrics, and industry trends.
  • Ability to build trust and long-term relationships with high-value clients.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Highly driven, self-motivated, and target-oriented.
  • Ability to handle objections gracefully and convert difficult leads.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and customer empathy.
  • Ability to manage time, pipeline, and multiple stakeholders efficiently.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 510 years

    of experience in fundraising, wealth management, investment product distribution, or private banking.
  • Experience raising capital for AIFs, PMS, or structured products is a strong advantage.
  • Graduation in Finance, Economics, or related fields; MBA preferred.
  • NISM certifications (Investment Advisor, Mutual Funds, or AIF-related modules) are preferable.
  • Existing relationships with wealth platforms is a major plus.
