We are seeking a detail-oriented Functional QA Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team in India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products through comprehensive testing methodologies and processes.
- Functional Test Design & Execution: Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for wealth management applications including portfolio management, trading platforms, validating complex business logic, performance calculations, and regulatory compliance.
- Test Case Development & Ownership: Create detailed, business-driven test cases and scenarios based on functional specifications and domain knowledge, developing edge cases for workflows including account opening, asset allocation, and transaction processing.
- Test Data Strategy & Management: Define and maintain comprehensive test data sets reflecting real-world wealth management scenarios across client profiles, asset classes, account types.
- Domain-Specific Testing: Apply deep understanding of wealth management concepts (asset classes, investment strategies, risk profiling) to identify critical test scenarios and validate calculations including returns, risk metrics, and fee computations.
- Quality Advocacy & Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects with detailed reproduction steps and business impact assessment, collaborating with development teams for timely resolution and root cause analysis.
- Test Planning & Strategy: Contribute to test strategy development, define testing scope, estimate effort, and identify risks specific to wealth management applications while participating in requirement reviews
- Cross-Platform & Integration Testing: Execute testing across multiple platforms, browsers and mobile
- Test Documentation: Maintain test documentation including test plans, test cases, and test reports
- Defect Reporting: Document bugs with clear reproduction steps, expected vs actual results, and severity levels
- Status Reporting: Provide regular testing status updates and quality metrics to stakeholders
- Requirements Analysis: Review and analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, product, and business teams
- Sprint Participation: Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality concerns to management
- Knowledge Sharing: Share testing best practices and mentor junior team members
- Testing Process Enhancement: Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies
- Tool Evaluation: Research and recommend testing tools and technologies
- Quality Standards: Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with latest testing trends, tools, and methodologies
Requirements
- Testing Experience: Proven track record in software testing and quality assurance with demonstrable expertise in end-to-end test ownership, from test design through execution and defect resolution
- Wealth Management Domain Expertise: Strong functional knowledge across multiple areas including Portfolio Management, Trading across multiple Asset Types, Investment Fundamentals, Corporate Actions, Fee Structures, Data Integrity, Regulatory Compliance, Performance Calculation & Attribution, Account Types & Structures, Market Data & Pricing, and Multi-Currency
- Testing Methodologies: Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and modern testing methodologies with ability to adapt testing approaches based on project needs and risk assessment
- Test Management & Collaboration: Hands-on experience with test management and collaboration tools (Jira, Notion, X-ray) for test case management, execution tracking, and team coordination
- Technical Testing Skills: Proficiency in bug tracking tools (Jira) with ability to document defects clearly. Basic knowledge of API testing (GraphQL, REST) and SQL for data validation and backend testing
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to understand complex business requirements, identify gaps, and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios that cover functional, edge, and negative cases
- Web Applications: Experience testing web applications across different browsers
- Mobile Testing: Understanding of mobile application testing (iOS/Android)
- E-commerce/SaaS: Experience in Wealth Domain or enterprise application testing
- Performance Awareness: Basic understanding of performance testing concepts
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify edge cases
