Job Description

Full Stack Engineer - API Development & Sidecar Integration

Full Stack Engineer with deep experience in API development, system integration, and DevOps to design and implement the API platform that powers the Browser Extension (Sidecar).
This role bridges front-end Val integrations with secure back-end AI orchestration - ensuring high performance, scalability, and compliance within payer client environments (on-prem or hybrid).

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain scalable APIs (FastAPI / REST) to serve AI model outputs and policy insights to the Val Sidecar.
Architect secure integrations between Val API and payer UM/CM platforms (e.g., ZeOmega Jiva, Medecision, Epic Tapestry).
Develop microservices and caching layers for real-time decision retrieval and model orchestration.
Implement DevOps pipelines (Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform) for rapid, reliable deployment.
Ensure PHI isolation - No PHI leaves the client network; only metadata passes to Val API.
Monitor and optimise Val API reliability, performance, and audit compliance (HIPAA/HITRUST).
Collaborate with browser extension engineers, architects, and AI teams on API contracts, testing, and rollout.

Data / Messaging:
PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka / SQS
DevOps:
Docker, Kubernetes / ECS, Terraform, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Helm
Infrastructure:
On-Prem + Hybrid (Load Balancer, Reverse Proxy, Secrets Mgmt)
Security:
HIPAA / HITRUST, TLS, PHI data isolation, zero-trust communication
Monitoring:
Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
