Job Description

Role & responsibilities To practice as per the Privileging and Credentialing policy of MAEERS VishwaRaj Hospital. To attend outpatient services, in patient services and emergency service, as per the nature of association with MAEER’S VishwaRaj Hospitals. To conduct at least one clinical round per day of the patient(s) admitted under you. To attend reference cases of other specialty consultants within 24 hours or earlier as per the criticality of the patient. To document patient complaints & history in patient case record ( OP, IP & in an Emergency ) To document the patient’s daily medical status in the progress sheets. To ensure patient relatives are aware and agree to consent on the Consent form before any procedure / surgery is performed. To duly sign patient notes with Signature, Name, Date & time. To coordinate with other consultants, junior doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff for the uninterrupted clinical care to patients. To perform the procedure and surgery, both outpatients & inpatients as per the Privileging and Credentialing policy of MAEER’S VishwaRaj Hospital To adhere and follow NABH & other accreditation body protocols. To participate in the development and enforcement of polices & procedures related to one’s respective specialty. To ensure cross consultation / reference to other specialty consultants if required. To adhere to Infection Control Policies & the Antibiotic Policy of MAEER’S VishwaRaj Hospital To assist in the recruitment of junior doctors / paramedical staff as and when required. To train Junior doctors, nurses and paramedical staff as and when required. To support in the teaching of Post graduate students as and when required. To be aware of the Safety Codes practiced in the Hospital. To maintain strict discipline at the work place and adhere to the MAEER’S VishwaRaj Hospital Code of conduct. To inform planned leave well in advance and assign a locum Consultant, if possible. To communicate with relatives in detail the patient’s condition and prognosis. To ensure daily counselling of relatives. To communicate/interact with other specialty colleagues and jointly conduct a multidisciplinary committee meeting with patient / relatives as and when required. To participate in clinical / medical audits, Mortality & morbidity reviews and other hospital committees. To adhere and follow Statutory and legal requirements of MAEER’S VishwaRaj Hospital . To mark daily presence in the MAEER’S VishwaRaj Hospital ( applicable to full time , part time ) 26. To report incidents, as and when they occur, to the Assistant Medical Superintendent and Quality Team To support in the implementation of HMIS and Electronic medical records in an endeavour to make MAEER’S VishwaRaj Hospital a paperless hospital. To attend BLS, ACLS, Hospital Induction, MOCK drills and other mandatory trainings conducted from time to time by the organization. To represent MAEER’S VishwaRaj Hospital on various external Clinical Forums as and when required. In an emergency situation, if your expertise is required, you will have extended privileges as per hospital needs, based on your training and experience in the areas under your respective specialty. You shall carry out your responsibilities depending upon your area of deployment.
