POSITION SUMMARY


Remote - Full-Time role - for candidates based in India.


Little Place Labs is looking for a skilled and driven Full Stack Software Engineer with 2-4 years of experience to join our growing team. This is a hands-on development role working at the intersection of geospatial intelligence, real-time analytics, and scalable cloud systems. You will be responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining the web application frontend, backend APIs, and associated microservices that support our satellite data products and analytics platform.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and build modern, responsive web applications using React and Next.js.
  • Develop scalable APIs and services using Python (FastAPI).
  • Build, maintain, and optimize relational databases using PostgreSQL and PostGIS for geospatial data.
  • Implement REST APIs and FAST APIs and integrate frontend and backend systems with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
  • Deploy microservices and full-stack applications on AWS using best DevOps practices.
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code across the stack.
  • Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate services with Kubernetes (or ECS).
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to define and deliver high-impact features.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and daily standups using GitHub and Jira.
  • Write clear documentation and contribute to team knowledge sharing.


COMPLEMENTARY SKILLS (Good to have)

  • Experience with authentication and authorization systems (OAuth2, JWT, AWS Cognito).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar.
  • Experience with serverless frameworks or AWS Lambda (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with modern monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry).
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CDK).
  • Exposure to working with satellite or remote sensing datasets (bonus).
  • Passion for space, autonomy, or geospatial intelligence.
  • Networking & Protocols: Knowledge of embedded networking (TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT, gRPC), especially for low-bandwidth or intermittent links.
  • Scripting & Automation: Bash, Python, and Ansible (good to have) for automating builds, deployments, and system monitoring.


SUCCESS METRICS

  • On-time delivery of reliable, scalable frontend and backend services.
  • API uptime, latency, and performance KPIs met consistently.
  • Smooth deployment cycles with containerized builds.
  • Positive feedback from internal and external users on system usability and functionality.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • 2–4 years of full-stack development experience in production-grade applications.
  • Proficiency in:
  • -React and Next.js (frontend)
  • -Python (RestAPI/FastAPI)
  • -PostgreSQL and PostGIS
  • Experience building and consuming REST and FAST APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Proficiency in GitHub, Docker, and working in agile development environments.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure automation tools.
