Job Description

The Receptionist for the Outpatient Department (OPD) serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors entering the hospital. This role involves greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the OPD. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Patient Interaction: -Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a polite and professional manner. -Provide information regarding services, procedures, and departmental policies. -Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries related to appointments, services, and general hospital information. Appointment Management: -Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using the hospital's electronic health record (EHR) system. -Confirm patient appointments and send reminders as needed. -Maintain an organized appointment calendar to optimize physician schedules. Patient Registration: Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history. Ensure accurate data entry into the hospital’s EHR system. Assist patients with the completion of necessary forms and documentation. Administrative Support: -Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and faxes. -Prepare and maintain patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. -Assist with billing inquiries and coordinate with the billing department as necessary. Collaboration: -Work closely with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and other departments to facilitate patient care. -Assist in coordinating patient flow and ensuring timely service delivery. Miscellaneous Duties: -Maintain a clean and organized reception area. -Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required. Qualifications: Graduation in any Field having experience of handling reception Skills : Customer Service Experience, Data Entry, Microsoft.
