Research & Development Management : Manage R&D projects from concept to commercialization, including formulation development for new products (e.g. skincare, haircare, oralcare, shavegel, etc) using raw materials like emulsifiers, preservatives, and active ingredients. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, marketing, and suppliers) to scale up lab prototypes to manufacturing levels, optimizing processes for efficiency, stability, and cost-effectiveness. Stay abreast of industry trends, scientific literature, patents, and emerging technologies (e.g., sustainable ingredients or clean beauty formulations); conduct research on raw material properties and consumer testing to innovate product lines. Team and Process Oversight : Manage and mentor Production teams (~10 members), including chemists, technicians, and operators; foster a culture of continuous improvement through training on Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or analytical tools. Integrate quality into product development by reviewing new product briefs, participating in gate reviews, and ensuring R&D outputs meet QC standards before launch. Monitor production processes to minimize waste, improve yield, and address issues like batch variability or packaging integrity; work with contract manufacturers. Regulatory and Compliance : Ensure all products comply with global regulations (e.g., labeling, claims substantiation, and allergen declarations); prepare regulatory submissions and dossiers for new product approvals. Educate teams on updates in cosmetic regulations, safety assessments, and sustainability standards (e.g., REACH for chemicals or zero-waste initiatives). Role & responsibilities
