Operation Theatre (OT) Technician — Fresher / Entry-Level

About The Opportunity

• Prepare and maintain sterile operating theatre environments: set up instrument trays, sterilised equipment, drapes, and surgical supplies before procedures.
• Assist surgical teams during procedures as a scrub or circulating technician—pass instruments, manage suction/diathermy, and maintain the sterile field.
• Ensure infection prevention: perform autoclave operation, sterilisation checks, instrument cleaning, and proper biomedical waste segregation.
• Handle patient pre-op and post-op preparation tasks including positioning, transfer, basic monitoring, and documentation of vitals as directed.
• Maintain OT inventory—track consumables, restock trays, label instruments, and escalate shortages to supervisors.
• Keep accurate records in OT registers and electronic systems; follow SOPs, safety checklists, and report incidents promptly.
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology, BMLT, DMLT, or relevant paramedical course; freshers encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of aseptic technique, sterilisation methods, and standard OT protocols.
• Willingness to work on-site full-time with shift flexibility (rotational shifts, nights as required).
• Good communication, teamwork, physical stamina, and attention to detail for high-pressure surgical environments.
  

Preferred

• BLS/First Aid certification or exposure to hospital internships/clinical attachments in OT.
• Familiarity with instrument sets for general surgery, orthopaedics, and obstetrics/gynecology.
• Basic computer literacy for digital recordkeeping and inventory systems.
