Role Description

Freelance IBM ODM Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement business rules, decision tables, action rules, and ruleflows using IBM ODM.
• Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to translate business requirements into executable decision logic.
• Harvest legacy rules, model BOM/XOM, and build scalable Decision Services to support eligibility, compliance, and benefit determination processes.
• Integrate ODM rule services with Java/Spring Boot applications using REST APIs.
• Develop, test, debug, and deploy decision artifacts across multiple environments.
• Perform unit testing and automated validation using JUnit, DVS, and CI/CD workflows.
• Optimize rule execution performance, maintain rule repositories, and ensure compliance with governance and version control standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Java developers, architects, QA, and legacy system teams.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience developing, deploying, and managing business rules using

  IBM ODM

  or similar BRMS platforms.
• Strong hands-on expertise with ODM Rule Designer, Decision Center, Ruleflows, Decision Tables, and Action Rules.
• Advanced experience integrating rule engines within

  Java/Spring Boot

  based systems using REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of

  decision modeling (DMN)

  and best practices for scalable and maintainable rule authoring.
• Proficiency in

  BOM/XOM modeling

  and rule harvesting from legacy platforms.
• Skilled in testing and debugging rule executions using

  JUnit, DVS

  , and performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Experience working with

  Git, Maven, Jenkins

  or similar CI/CD tools for version control and automated deployments.
• Ability to work collaboratively with analysts, architects, and development teams to align rules with organizational policies.
• Prior experience supporting

  State Medicaid/Eligibility

  systems (strongly preferred).
