FP&A Sr Analyst

In this role as an FPR&A Senior Analyst at Elsevier, you will be part of the Centre of Excellence FPR&A team, a dynamic and collaborative group dedicated to providing critical financial insights and support to drive the company's strategic objectives. You will develop and support analytic technologies to provide structured access to timely, accurate, and actionable data for internal customers. Your role will involve conducting in-depth analysis, planning, and trend identification to provide critical financial insights. **Key Responsibilities:** - Gathering, interpreting, and analyzing information, making assessments, and completing reconciliations. - Providing critical financial insights through conducting in-depth analysis, scenario planning, and trend identification for strategic decision-making. - Understanding and gaining a deep knowledge of financial systems and processes. - Analyzing large sets of data to extract valuable insights for leadership and business partners. - Supporting month-end close activities, preparing and analyzing schedules, and understanding their impact on financials. - Identifying problem areas in data analysis, recognizing patterns, trends, or missing pieces, and recommending solutions. - Documenting improvements and enhancements, recommending appropriate actions, and assisting in implementing new processes. - Supporting and guiding other functional areas, assisting with questions and solutions. - Performing Ad hoc analysis as required. **Qualifications Required:** - 5+ years of prior experience in diverse financial analysis and accounting. - Advanced computer skills including Excel, Essbase, and Hyperion. - Understanding of financial system structures and data flows. - Attention to detail, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. - Ability to complete financial analysis with minimal direction.
