About the Role:

We are looking for a Food Technician who has hands-on experience in food product quality inspection, raw material sourcing, and export operations. The ideal candidate should understand the complete lifecycle of edible commodities from identifying qualified suppliers and ensuring raw material quality, to testing, packaging, and meeting international export standards. This is a key role that connects procurement, quality assurance, and logistics, ensuring every batch meets FSSAI and export-grade specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain quality control processes across all stages raw material, dehydration, packaging, and final product.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify non-conformities and corrective actions.
  • Determine shelf life and monitor product stability for export markets.
  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and BRC standards.
  • Monitor and assess the quality and safety of food products through various analytical and sensory testing methods
  • Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on food samples to check for factors such as Quality, Moisture content, nutritional content, microbiological safety, chemical composition, and sensory attributes (taste, texture, aroma)
  • Stay updated on food safety regulations and ensure that food products meet all legal requirements, labeling regulations, and health standards
  • Establish basic quality systems, SOPs, and lab testing protocols
  • Set up record-keeping formats, checklists, and quality benchmarks for future scaling.
  • Verify and maintain export documentation (FSSAI, Certificate of Origin, Health Certificate, Phytosanitary, etc.).
  • Work with warehouse and logistics teams to release only quality-approved batches for export.
  • Liaise with external testing labs and inspection agencies for product validation.
  • Identify and onboard qualified suppliers of dehydrated fruits, vegetables, and packaging materials.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on quality, consistency, hygiene, and delivery timelines.
  • Conduct vendor audits and ensure adherence to our food-grade sourcing criteria.
  • Coordinate with vendors and co-packers for raw material quality and export specification compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.Sc / M.Sc / B.Tech in Food Technology, Food Science, or related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years in food processing, dehydration, export-oriented production, or FMCG food operations.
  • Strong knowledge of drying technologies, packaging materials, and shelf-life determination.
  • Familiarity with FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and BRC compliance.
  • Ability to conduct moisture testing, microbial testing, and maintain lab documentation.
  • Knowledge of APEDA or export documentation related to food products is an added advantage.
  • Experience in supplier sourcing and vendor evaluation for food products.
  • Strong observation skills, attention to detail, and process discipline.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel / ERP / Documentation tools.
